In case you have not heard, American Idol Winner Taylor Hicks is bringing his soulful Southern style to The Mill Casino on May 27, and the concert is completely SOLD OUT.
But like every cloud there is a silver lining……and we have set aside a pair of tickets for a lucky participant to join the other members of the Soul Patrol and watch Taylor Hicks perform live! We want this night to be very special for our winner so we are including a one night stay at the Red Lion Hotel in Coos Bay and Dinner for 2 at The Plank House Restaurant before the concert!

There are 3 ways you can earn entries into the drawing:
- Leave a comment at the end of this post telling us how much you love Taylor Hicks and what it would mean to see him live between now and midnight (PST) on Friday, May 6, 2011.
- If you ‘Like” The Mill Casino in Facebook you will receive an additional entry into the drawing! You must indicate you are a Facebook fan in the comments or it will not count. We will verify.
- You can also enter by Tweeting following: I want to win the @MillCasino @redlioncoosbay package to see @TaylorRHicks (include link to this blog post).
The winner will be randomly selected in a drawing. We will assign each person who leaves a comment between now and Friday May 6, 2011 a number; on Monday May 9, we will draw the winning number and and announce the winner on our Blog, Facebook Page and Twitter!

OMG!!! My heart would jump out of my chest if I was to win these awesome tickets to see dreamy Taylor Hicks and the Soul Patrol…he has been my love every since he was discovered on American Idol. His voice just covers me in chocolate and makes me melt right into his beautiful eyes…what a beautiful person, singer and man he is…I will be crushed if I do not get to see him. I enjoyed watching Taylor when he was on American Idol, was nice to see an old school singer win. I would love to see him in real life and see how good he is compared to what I saw on TV. I would love to take my handicapped friend who enjoys his music to see him. Thanks

My husband and I just celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary and were not able to have an day/evening out because I had to work that day and I would love to win this chance to surprise my husband so we could celebrate our anniversary the way it should be. My hubby and I rarely get a chance to get out without our children. We are both Taylor Hicks fans, and LOVE LOVE LOVE The Mill Casino, so it would be winning DOUBLE for us! It would mean the world to me to be able to go to the concert to see Taylor Hicks. One because he is a native Alabamaian like me. I just moved to Oregon from Alabama last September and having a little bit of home singing to me-Heavenly. Second, my father passed away this January and my mom will be visiting me and it would be amazing to spoil her. She loves casinos, Taylor Hicks and the coast. What else could you ask for? NOTHING!

Never before, have I watched American Idol, until I saw the show while channel surfing. That day, Taylor Hicks was performing, and I only watched the show to follow his progression. Each time, I hoped he would move on to the next time and he did. His voice is beautiful. The unique way he presents his vocal talent is incredible. Each time he worked on his presentation and evolved his ablilities. I would be so honored to be able to see him in person and hear him sing. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to express how much his voice has lent to the music world. Even if I do not get the opportunity to see him in person, I will always seek out his next music production in CD or performance on tour as he is an awesome talent and well worth the moments of listening enjoyment!!!

A fan since the first time I saw Taylor on AI. I wasn’t able to go see him, when he was at Epcot last year, because of health problems. Now I’m doing better and would love to win the tickets so I could fly out there and see The SoulMan. There is no better singer. And so handsome too.

I’ve loved Taylor Hicks since I saw him on American Idol. He is truly one of the most unique singers they’ve ever had on that show. Every time I hear a song on Idol that Taylor sang, I am reminded of how he did it, and how he added his own style to it.
I bought Taylor’s album when it came out after he won American Idol. My son and I listen to it endlessly. When we would sit and wait for the school bus to come in the morning we had to have the Taylor Hicks CD playing.
Now I just look forward to seeing Taylor Hicks live appearances on TV and local concerts. SOUL PATROL!!!

SOUL PATROL! I love American Idol & the year Taylor Hicks was on I did not miss one show! Simon did not think he would make it but those of us who voted for him knew Simon was WRONG! Being from the south originally his soulful voice had my full attention. I would LOVE to see his show and hear that in person! He is a wonderful singer and song writer! I have followed his career through the internet since Idol and when I saw he was coming to our little town I was so excited..but then I heard it was sold out- bummed beyond words!

I’m fan of Taylor Hicks, and have been since his audition for American Idol. I’m a grown woman who felt like a 16yr old when I became a fan.
I’ve watched AI since season 1, and Taylor is the only one who I voted for like crazy! When he won Season 5, I was so happy and excited, I felt like I had won something. I’ve met so many wonderful people since I’ve become a fan. I’ve established some great friendships with other Taylor fans. The Mill Casino is beautiful, I would love to see it in person while attending the Taylor Hicks concert! It would be a double bonus for me to win the tickets!

But when he was on American Idol I always voted for him and we were very happy he won!!!! Now if we could just see him in person would just make our day. It would be right up there on the best things to be there for like seeing all of our grand babies being born

Would LOVE to ride “shotgun” with Taylor Hicks!!!!! I have seen him once in concert and got to meet him also. He is a great artist, shy and humble in person. I have all of his CD’s, DVD & his Book, “heart full of soul” all are great. He is so much more talented than many of the other American Idol winners. He is incredible in concert and you can really tell that he loves what he does. I wish that the music industry would notice his talent more.

I knew Taylor would be the Winner the first time I heard him on American Idol! I kept voting for him and low and behold, he Won!! I screamed!!! So happy, he certainly deserved it! Silver Fox!!
A former coworker vacationed in the same building his grandma lives, she didn’t see him though.

I remember seeing Taylor Hicks for the first time on american idol, I immediately knew he was the “American Idol”, I am such a big fan of his, when I see him dance, I get so “Gitty” inside, I cannot keep still, I yell and scream, my children think I’m nutty, but they knew when I let out this crazy scream it is because Taylor is somewhere around via the radio or television. To see him in person would be the ultimate gift for me, because I truly believe I am his biggest fan. I have been looking up his schedule for the past few years to see when he is coming our way (Rochester, NY) again. When he came, I was sadly in Florida and Missed Him! I was so disappointed. So Make My Day, let me see him in person!!!!

May 27th marks my 3-year “cancer-versary” (3 years to the day of the completion of chemo & radiation treatments)! My husband and I knew the minute Taylor auditioned for AI that this was someone special. Someone who touches your heart. I have closely followed Taylor’s career and know three things without a doubt. (1) Taylor is a very talented and handsome man who truly cares about his fans. We won’t be able to see Taylor the way the tour is progressing because we are in TX. (2)Taylor is an awesome entertainer who gives 120% on stage – every time! (3) Taylor’s concerts are addictive. Once you see one you check his schedule to see if you can possibly get to another show – QUICK!! Hey, I just love the guy! Also, I have a son in Eugene we could see.
