Since coming together as a troupe in 2004, Pow Wow Comedy Jam has unleashed a buzz in Indian Country and was recently awarded the North American Indigenous Image Award for Comedy Performance. Recognized by their peers and fans for their ground-breaking comedy, Pow Wow Comedy Jam showcases three of the country’s best and brightest Native American comedians: Vaughn Eaglebear; Marc Yaffee; and Gilbert Brown.
Pow Wow Comedy Jam is just one of several events taking place during The Mill Casino’s Eighth Annual Mill-Luck Salmon Celebration, a traditional observance marking the return of the salmon, which began as a means of sharing the culture and traditions of the Coquille Indian Tribe and other Pacific Northwest Tribes with residents and visitors to Oregon’s Bay Area. Featuring a traditional salmon bake, canoe races, and Native American musicians and dancers, this year’s Mill-Luck
Salmon Celebration will take place on Saturday and Sunday, September 10-11, 2011.
