Craps is one of the most popular table games at The Mill Casino. Many of our guests enjoy the game because it is not difficult to learn, and you don’t have to know everything to play and have fun. With a little bit of research and practice beforehand, you will soon be playing like a pro!

You want to start by learning a few basic bets and work your way up. Here are some basic things to remember:

1. Craps is played with a pair of dice; each person at the table has a chance to be the “shooter.”
2. When the Stickperson indicates it is your turn to shoot, you must bet on one of two basic bets: A Pass Line bet, or a Don’t Pass bet.
3. The Stickperson will then have you choose two of five dice. Pick them up with the hand you use for throwing (you may only touch the dice with one hand) and hit the end of the table with both dice.

What happens from here depends on the dice.

• If you throw a 7 or 11 and you are betting on the Pass Line, you “Win.”
• If you throw a Crap (2, 3, or 12), Don’t Pass bets win and Pass Line bets are taken.
• If you throw anything other than craps, 7 or 11, then that number becomes your “point” (4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10)
• You must repeat the point before a 7 to win.
• Once the point has been established, you continue to shoot the dice until you make your point or 7 out.

All bets are made with gaming chips, purchased at the game. Some bets are made directly by each player (by setting your chips on specific areas marked on the table. Other bets are made by passing chips to your dealer or the stickperson. You will figure this out as you play.

How to Get There
Shore Acres State Park is located on the Cape Arago Highway, 13 miles southwest of Coos Bay/North Bend and U. S. Highway 101. The park is open every day from 8 a.m. to dusk. Please check posted times at park entrance for exact closing times. A nominal daily vehicle parking fee is charged. Annual day-use permits are available for purchase. Now available for either 12 or 24 month periods. Your camping receipt from Sunset Bay State Park or any other state park campground is accepted as a daily permit for those days registered. Display the receipt on the driver side of your dashboard when visiting Shore Acres State Park.

Think you have what it takes to be the next country music sensation? 97.3 Hot Country K-Shore wants to see up and coming country music stars at the local auditions for the Texaco County Showdown on May 10, 2012 at the Hales Center for the Performing Arts at Southwest Oregon Community College.

The Texaco Country Showdown is the largest and longest running County Music talent search in the nation. It has been introducing some of the best undiscovered Country Music talent to the world since 1982.

The Texaco Country Showdown is a four-level competition beginning in the spring where contestants compete at events sponsored by their local Country Music radio station. Local winners then advance to the state level where the prize is $1,000.00 and the opportunity to compete at one of five Regional events. Regional winners win an all-expense trip to the National Final at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee! There, before a live audience, five aspiring Country Music artists will try to win the grand prize of $100,000.00 and the title of “Best New Act in Country Music!”

Icons such as Garth Brooks, Martina McBride, Billy Ray Cyrus, Sara Evans, Sweet Hearts of the Rodeo and many, many more all participated in the Showdown at one point in their career and look back on it as a valuable part of their journey that ultimately led to super-stardom.
