A bit of history: Shore Acres was once the private estate of pioneer lumberman and shipbuilder Louis J. Simpson who developed the summer home into an elaborate mansion (destroyed by fire in 1921) and featured five acres of formal gardens. In 1942, Simpson’s estate was purchased by the state of Oregon for use as a public park. Visit shoreacrespark.com for more event information.
