Coming up on the 10th year, BBQ, Blues & Brews on the Bay has grown to be one of The Mill’s most well-attended signature events. In 2012, our first year, we struggled to meet the minimum 15 team requirement to qualify to be a KCBS sanctioned event. Teams came from throughout the Pacific Northwest with most residing in Oregon and Southern Washington. Over the years, we’ve had teams come from as far as Canada, Texas, Idaho and more.
The beer scene has also grown. In 2012 we featured eight breweries and now feature over 20 breweries who have helped raise over $50,000 for local non-profits through the beer sample garden.
How it Works:
$5 entry fee gets you into the event each day. Participating vendors will have a 2 oz. sample of BBQ for sale. Attendees can also purchase a full meal from the vendors – Hole in the Wall BBQ and The Mill Grill.

KCBS: The BBQ, Blues & Brews on the Bay event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS). The Kansas City Barbecue Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and enjoying barbeque. KCBS sanctions over 500 barbeque contests coast-to-coast throughout America. KCBS sends two of their reps to each competition to ensure the cooks follow all rules and regulations and to oversee the judging process.
