Judging Class: Check the KCBS website for the next judging class near you. The fee is $100 for non-KCBS members and $75 for current KCBS members. Registration also includes a 1 year membership to KCBS. Pre-registration is required.

How the Judging Works
The competitors will be cooking all Saturday night. Starting at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, they will begin turning in their products. KCBS has strict requirements about how all of the meats shall be prepared and turned in. The four standard categories are: Chicken, Pork Ribs, Pork and Beef Brisket; and we’ve added our own special category, Mac N’ Cheese.

The categories will be judged in the following order: Chicken at 12:00 pm, Pork Ribs at 12:30 pm, Pork at 1:00 pm, Beef Brisket at 1:30 pm and Mac N’ Cheese at 2:00 pm.  (Times are subject to change)

On Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the Event Tent, we will be awarding $13,500 in prize money! The competition pays the top 10 places in each of the four standard categories (chicken, pork ribs, pork and brisket) as well as a bonus for the Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion and Third Runner Up. For the Mac N’ Cheese Challenge, the first place winner will receive $350, second place will receive $100 and third place will receive $50. We will also be announcing the winners of the Best Brew Contest.
